I often get asked where my favorite place in the world to sail is and my answer is always the same...
Maine.
There is no place like home! Let me share my love of the state with you as we sail through pine covered islands and explore the coastal communities along the way.
The Spray
On June 27, 1898 Captain Joshua Slocum sailed into Newport Harbor aboard the Spray, thus completing the first single-handed circumnavigation of the world. The Spray is an exact replica of Captain Slocum's original ship. She has two private cabins and is available for day sails and longer adventures.
The Amity
The AMITY was built in 1901 by Wilbur Morse in Friendship, Maine. Wilbur was the most prolific builder of these sloops and the design soon acquired the name Friendship Sloop. AMITY is one of Morse's first boats (hull number 9) and is one of only a handful of original Friendship Sloops still in service today. Thanks to an extensive rebuild by Ralph Stanley in 1974-75 in Southwest Harbor, Maine, AMITY will be enjoyed for generations to come.
